wifey

March 06, 2005
We could pretend that I haven't updated in ages because I've been too busy living my crazy exciting life.

But who would we be kidding eh?

Really I've just been too busy being lazy. Or trying not to be lazy, which requires a lot more effort than it should. Actually, I've done a pretty good job filling my days. In fact, I've left the house every day except one... and even then I did run outside to post Richard's Mother's Day card (after having bought the card the day before... what a wifey!).

I've also spent far too much money. That's the problem with leaving the house. It costs me. After three months of thrifty saving, I manage to lose nearly a tenth of it in a week. A WEEK! I'm still trying to figure out how. Too many lunch dates I suppose.

Speaking of which, I'm meeting with Sharon in a bit. And her new boyfriend, which I'm more excited about, as he has CONNECTIONS and I've become mega networker girl. I gotsta get me a job! What do you expect?

Yeah, not much luck on that front so far. Spoken to a bunch of editor, sent a bunch of CVs, filled out several annoying applications. And that's about it. Depressing. I know it's only been a week, but I'm impatient. And bored. And poor.

Regardless, a weird calm has settled over me. In many ways, I'm out of danger, free from imminent pressure. Days stretch ahead of me, I'm in no hurry. I'll be here for awhile. Things are not desperate. I've got a little money, Richard's here to support me. I can be choosy. I can take my time. I've got all the time in the world. It's really nice.

That being said, I'm thinking I'll give it another week before signing up to temp. What can I say, I'm greedy. And bored. If I stay cooped up here much longer I'll go crazy. It brings back unpleasant memories of my final month before getting kicked out. Ack.

I've also signed up to volunteer at a hospital radio station. Mmmm yeah. I dunno either.
