I attribute it to good music and caffeine! It's amazing what the combo can do!
After weeks of waiting, I finally received my new fangled jangled fun lil mp3 player thingie! Wooooooooo! I loaded it up with 20 of my most favourite songs and went to work and danced the night away in glee. Nothing could get to me, nothing! Even that annoying noisy bitch with the greasy long hair! Oh no! I just wiggled my bum in her general direction and she laughed and let me be with my heavenly tunes.
The little trip to the Dunkin Donuts stall at the mall helped too. I had to go shopping - no really, I HAD to... there was a gift that needed returning, on a deadline! - and after nabbing some more PRIME BARGAINS - five new tops, all in the shade of black, I later realised- I was feeling a wee bit drowsy, so I opted for my first ever iced caramel swirl latte. I bought a medium - which should have been labeled "ginormous" instead - and was soon off the walls peppy. I never have caffeine these days, and apparently this drink involved expresso, unbenowest to be. (Er... unbeknown? Hmmm.) I was absolutely ridiculously chipper all night.
And morning. I ended up staying up till past noon, downloading new music. I discovered www.epitonic.com which has so many fantastic and free and LEGAL downloads from the best bands ever, and some I had never heard of, but who proved equally fantastic. Like the Fairways and Kleenex Girl Wonder. I'm a sucker for lyrics like "I can't take recidivism so hit me with some criticism... Amelia, ameliorate me."
Unsurprisingly, I was not as chipper today. I was tired, and actually volunteered to go home early. I had big plans for today, you see, including more music management, some film viewing, maybe a little Depp swooning... oh yeah, and talking to Richard I suppose. Socialising. Maybe. Erm... copying financial statements? Probably not. Already went to the bank to deposit my latest paycheck (yay!). Okay, so nothing major, but any plans require complex formulation and shifting of my sleep schedule! So, yeah!
Okay, so maybe I still have some residual hyperness. Or maybe it's just the child within, excited at the prospect of a week alone in an empty house with a fully stocked fridge! To spite my anally clean (er..) mother, I've assembled a row of empty beer and soda cans around the computer. Woo hoo! Freedom, it smelleth so sweet!
